Wordless Wednesday #119 “Hi-Contrast Tree”

I originally made this shot in color while testing the Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD AF lens for Shutterbug magazine. And created this image as an homage to the work of my friend Mark Toal, who produces monochrome images with dramatic skies. I’m not sure that this is up to his standards but is my best try. Shot with the Tamron 18-270mm lens (at 18mm) with a Canon EOS 50D and an exposure of 1/800 sec at f/11 and ISO 320 and converted to monochrome with Nik Silver Efex Pro.
