More Secrets to Finding Glamour Models

Where do I find my glamour photography models? That’s a question I get asked lot. Finding glamour models is as easy or difficult as you want to make it. Today’s post is the next one in this series that offers another one my real-world suggestions on the best ways to find glamour models.

Secret Number 2: Hand out your business cards to potential models. While it may seem obvious, handing out business cards to potential models you see or meet is a more than good idea.

tasha-whiteSince this can sound like a pick-up line, I only approach models if they are with friends and I’m with my wife. I tell them to visit my website to see some examples of my work and send me an e-mail if they are interested. I also give business cards to my wife and friends who are not bashful about handing them to potential models they might meet in their everyday lives.

“Are you a Model?” That’s what I asked this woman (at right) when she and her boyfriend were standing in line waiting to get into a car show. I talked with her for a few minutes and handed her my business card. We had several photo shoots after that and I found that she was one of the most talented, natural models I’d ever worked with.

28-135mmThe above photograph was made in the loft area outside my home office in my former home with a Canon EOS D60 and an EF 28-105mm lens that I made the mistake of selling a few years ago. (I replaced it with the EF 28-135mm IS lens but still miss the older, smaller lens.) Exposure was 1/16 sec at f/5 and ISO 400 and the camera’s built-in flash was used as fill.

We are now taking registration for a series on one-on-one Glamour Photography Workshops to be held in my home studio.
